Default 3/4 ton radiator q's

I have been notice many people installing these in the 1/2 ton trucks. I figure I can easily score one as there is a late model truck junkyard local to me!

Do I need a 1500HD/2500/2500HD rad?

What all is entailed in this install?

Any temp drops with just the rad swap as the core is larger?

Thanks!

just the reg 2500 rad is all that people have been instaling. it bolts right in, all the hoses and lines work. you would need a diferent shroud if you still had the stock fan. this thing is huge, i was able to keep my truck at 172deg all the time, thats with atap. not sure what the stocker would have been able to do cause i did the fans and radiator at the same time.

Is 172* with the stock thermo or lower temp one?

I am thinking that a 160* won't be too efficient as it will pretty much stay open in this Texas heat and the coolant in the radiator won't cool off.

So I am plotting a 180* thermo and that big *** radiator. I have taken that stock flyswatter off the truck a while ago, so now I have LS1 fans.
