Default 3/4 ton 6.0 or 1/2 ton 5.3?

I found a good deal on an 03 ECSB 4x4 2500 with a 6.0 and am curious about the performace its capable of? My plans are Long tubes, corsa, hopefully radix, nelson tune, and eventually e-fans for performance. I will be using it as a tow vehicle also but really just want it to race little civics and powerstrokes and cummins! My 5.3 isnt quite cutting it right now for performance and towing. Thanks for yalls help!

Get a 6.0 and throw it in place of the 5.3!!

Seriously though a lq4 6.0 in that 2500 has a ton of potential. With those mods you said I dont think you will have any problem towing anything and you will also be able to got to the track/street and tear all those imports apart actually alot of cars for that matter. There is so many possibilitys for you with a 6.0 its crazy.

If you don't want to mod extensively (IE trans and motor swaps) then get the 6.0L HD.. Slow stock but damned mean with mods and you have the most durability.

I know it doesn't sound logical but I learned first hand what one of those trucks could do once the right parts were on them. near 100mph traps out of 5400lb truck N/A with stock heads is pretty damn good IMO.

I've been babying my truck for a while and realize that I will always be babying a 5800 lb vehicle with a 4L60E and 8.5" rear end. Takes a lot of the fun out of the power I have at my disposal. I vote for the 2500 with the 6.0L...more potential for fun without the worries, IMO.

Engine/ tranny swaps arent really my kind of thing but it would be nice to have a 6.0 in my Z-71 BUT it would also be nice to have a 3/4 ton to tow with. I dont want to pass this deal up though from my buddies father.
Thanks for the help guys!
