Default 2500hd exhaust

I just got an 03 sierra 2500hd crew cab 4x4, and was looking at the exhaust, it looks like about 3" pipe true duals into the stock muffler, then dual out of stock muffler, then a shitty looking y pipe that join the two before it goes over the rear axle. I was thinking dual flowmaster 40's but everyone on here seems to like magnaflows, I want it nasty sounding, with performance gains. whats the best bang for my buck? probabaly just dump them for now. My bro has a magnaflow on his v-10 f-250 and it sounds stock, I know it is a big muffler, over 20" long but how would a shorter magnaflow compare? Be to quiet?

Default you're lucky

I have a 2500hd also, but RCLB which nobody friggin makes exhaust for.. there's a nice magnaflow and I believe its the best although the price is up there.. alternatively there is a flowmaster just 4 u with again a single giant muffler, although I believe its 4" out the back and tailpipe? check on summit with part# 17328 its a complete cat back setup which u can install at home by just cutting off the stock setup after the cat pipes... Its listed as a "big block" muffler whatever that is and they also have just the muffler listed as # 530503 or they have a similar version but with dual exit pipes as #527504... the mufflers alone are around $125 I think? I'm on the verge of getting one myself and just lettin it dump out the back... who knows... Someone on here recommended "flo-pro.com" also as the same type of deal... can't find it locally myself... GOOD LUCK!

I looked on ebay and found the original 40's 3" in and 3" out for $56 shipped, super 40's which are a bit quieter but supposedly flow more cost about $15-20 more each. I guess I will go with the original 40's, cant beat the price and just dump em. I heard the big block muffler on the flowmaster site and its called the 70 series, they have it on a 5.3 and sounds pretty good just a little quiter than what i like. Guess I'll go with the 40's and if its to loud sell em.

A buddy of mine had a 2500hd with the 6.0. He cut the stock muffler off and ran 2 of the short Magnaflows and ran the pipes out the back with 4 inch tips. Sounded mean as hell, kinda the tone as straight pipes only deeper. That 6.0 seems to be a little louder than the 4.8 and 5.3.

Got my delta flow 40's on and the 6.0 really sounds nasty. I cant believe how loud it is at full throttle and how quiet it is inside the cab at highway speeds. There is no interior resonation at highways speeds, at 60mph with 4.10 gears and 30" tires it runs around 2400 rpm and you can hardly even hear the exhaust. It is 2 single 3" in 3" out delta flow 40's that are dumped right before rear axle. I was kind of skeptical about the flows since everyone on here complains about interior resonation but I have none at all. Was also going to put in an h-pipe but there wasn't really a good place to put it because of the offset cats, guy told me it was pointless to do it right before the mufflers because it doesn't scavange as well. Also picked up a K&N FIPK off ebay used for $41.00. Next is computer work.
