Ok, I am the LS1 camswap master. In my f-body I have it down to 4 hours. Am I going to run into any oddities in my truck? What do you guys do?
Any pointers would be appricated!

don't completely remove the radiator, just unbolt it and lift it up when you pull the old cam and install the new one. you should be able to do it in less than 4 hours in the truck, mine took 3 days due to broken parts, and **** like that, but i can get the valve covers and rockers off in 20 minutes, all front accessories in under an hour i would say 3 hours for everything with a beer break or two.

? about just a cam swap. If I were to just change the cam, I wouldn't need to take the heads off right? I had learned that you undo the rocker arms and then when the cam is loose, you rotate the cam backwards 2 revolutions and then that will keep the lifters up so you can remove the cam. Is this true? Also I won't need to remove the heads to do ls6 springs right? Thanks.

Ryan - I think you'll really enjoy the extra room you have in the truck.AC condenser stays in place, but the radiator needs to be lifted up and out of the way. It likes an inch from clearing the cam when its bolted in. #8 is easier than on a car, but still not fun.
Mud- correct. Lifters will usually stay up, but there is a chance they may not. You can change the springs with the heads on the truck. Just use compressed air in the spark plug hole to keep the valves up.
