I wonder if it is a year based thing because some of the other guys here had that problem. If I put my gear selector in 1st it will stay in 1st till I slam the limiter, same with 2nd. Guess my truck is different. I tested this awhile ago with the G-Tech and posted about it. Some trucks can some can't so in your case the HPP3 was a great mod then.

 

How can you finish the 1/4 in 2nd gear? Im over half way through 3rd by the end. When i spray im at @5500rpms in 3rd gear. I still honestly believe an x-pipe would help on top end. The mods youve done are good ones, and there are alot more that will help give you more power. If you want your truck to leave the line faster get a stall convertor. If you just drop gear ratios, sure it will be a little quicker, but you will loose some millage. With a good stall convertor you can drop almost another .5 seconds in the 1/4.

 

A guy at work has a new Dodge Hemi ext. cab sb. w/ stock 17"rims and a flowmaster cat back he said is a 40 series. Do you guys think my truck (modded) will hang with his? I know his should be lighter because it is a half ton, but I don't know how those hemi's run. What do ya think?

 

My money is on you spankin that ***! I think it will be close. You may pull on him a little in 2nd gear and 3rd, but not much. Go run him and let us know how it turns out.

 

3.73 gears and 31" tall tires will do it.

I tried letting the truck shift istelf when stock and I would get 16.1s if I shifted it as close to the rev limiter as possible I could hold 2nd gear and run 15.7s.

I'm thinking about getting some 28" tall slicks though so I wont be able to pull off the 2nd gear thing if I do.

 

I need to take my truck to a track and see what it runs. I think it shoulds be around 15.5 or a little less, but that is just a guess. I know this isn't a race truck, but it is fun to see what it can do. I beat my friends ext. cab sb stock 2003 Z71 a week ago, also spanked my buddies Ford SD V-10 w/ exhaust and K&N FIPK. He was pissed. He was teasing me before the race because of my "tiny motor". I didn't hear him say that after I spanked him. I beat him so bad, that he let off around 50mph or so. I told him he let off so his truck didn't blow up. He couldn't say much. Another co-worker has a Ford SD 7.3 powerstroke w/ superchips programer. I will run him before the Hemi. I think this powerstroke is going to beat me!! Ohh, well. It should be fun. As long as the Hemi don't beat me, I will be happy. If the Hemi beats me, then I am doing more Mods!!!
