i milled them .050 and am at 10.3:1. I had them ported at the same time. When i get close to completing my turbo i am going to swap the heads from my Camaro to drop the compression to @ 9:1. My Camaro should also benefit from the ported 5.3 heads.
That dyno was at a place called Speed Craft that mostly deals with turbo and SC cars. My truck was the biggest thing they ever dynoed.

Good to know. I was thinking about using my GTP S2+ heads on this motor since they have to be sent back to GTP anyway. Or I might just fix em up, sell em and get a cheapo set of LS1 heads for $200 and have em milled and a mild port job and still be under $1k. Did you notice alot from the head work? You're MPH is excellent!

 

You dont like Camaro's?
I felt a huge difference with the heads. It started pulling crazy hard in high rpms. With the other mods Ive done since then its gotten even better. Off the line to @ 3000rpms though it still feels like its lacking, thats why i get bad 60' times and high ETs for the MPH. That and the street tires spin a little.
Once i get the cam installed and convertor, I should be able to hit high 12s N/A. Oh, ET Streets too.

Ohh, the GTP heads are not from the GTP car. It is a company in Texas that does awesome head porting work. The guy I bought these from did 437rwhp,419rwtq in his WS6 with a small 223/.589/112 cam.

 

Sorry im a little slow with the spelling thing. I have a TR224 in the CAMARO. I wonder how much HP it could gain with @ 11.8:1 compression. The best its run to date was 12.1@110. Dont you have to have a roll cage and harness to run sub 12s? The car isnt as much fun at the track anyway.

I just found this thread. It sure is nice looking at that old truck again. I kinda upgraded to a Dmax now....but I sure liked that truck!
