Default 2500hd with 6.0 swap to 5.3

Ok my brother in law has a 2005 2500 hd crew cab 4x4i with 6.0 and 4l80e trans. His motor dropped oil pressure after tearing doen the 6.0 found that a cam bearing has spun. So my question is what all is needed to swap to a 4.8 or 5.3 to get it rollingso he can get back to work till he can find another 6.0. I seen the one we pulled has a spacer on the crank would i just have to swap that to the 5.3 and drop it in? Thanks in advance

Everything you need to do the swap is already on the 6.0 engine. Depending what year Gen 3 engine you buy some of the intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds (LH only) and throttle bodies are different. Just take everything off the 6.0 and bolt it onto the replacement engine and you'll be good to go! Do you already have an engine to use as a replacement? We may be able to help!

that spacer on the crank will need to go on the 5.3 crank so you can use the 80e flywheel and trans.
