Default 243 heads

What is a "ballpark" figure ($$$$???)for a machine shop to mill some ls6 heads to go on a 5.3. I'm thinking somewhere in the .035 region to get the compression back up to around 10 to 1. How much to just mill them??? Thanks

$80 for mine. $60 to clean them. They were bare.

An old quote from Richard at West Coast Cylinder Heads:

About the best you could do is to mill a pair of LS6/LS2 #243 heads. You'll get a larger intake valve and improved as cast intake and exhaust ports. You would need to mill them about .025" to get the chamber to the same size as your stock 5.3l truck heads.

Good luck with your mods.

Richard

Since Richard made that statement, which is quite a while ago by the way, the 799 heads came along and are considered equal to the original 243 pieces.
