No, you are not blind, Gunnar just doesn't advertise those on his site or he would sell a bazillion sets and not make as much money as he would selling you a set of ported 243's. Call him, tell him you want a set of NEW 243 heads with standard valves and z06 springs for $425. He will send you out a set and $25 later shipping you'll have your heads in hand for $450

i think its great that everyone throws around the numbers "243"

to me, that is just another stock head that already came on some 5.3 motors.... unless you are getting 243's that have some type of porting/polishing or angled valve job, what could you be gaining? they might flow a little better than other castings, but its a lot of trouble to gain a small amount if the heads arent worked a bit.

kinda like back in the day, before all the gen iii ****, lots of folks would throw around the term "camel hump heads" . they thought they had put a blower on when they got the camel humps!! well......until they discovered what a real head is....like AFR or DART.

Well Mine Didnt Come With The 243's And Well I Got Em For A Really Good Price With 918's Already In Em With Very Low Mileage And I Said Fawk It Y Not Im Sure They Will Work Better Than The 862's That Were On There With The Bigger Valves And Better Flow I Dont See How They Wont Perform Better Cuz I Know I Wont Wanna Spend 1 Or 2,000 On Some Heads

another bit of important information, heads ARE normally expensive........

BUT, punctuation in your sentences is ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!

Well, in my case I started with a low mileage LQ4 and refused to touch the shortblock. Meaning not cracking any factory torque main or rod caps. However I want to get my compression up. 243's have a 10cc smaller chamber than the 317's and flow the same. My heads also came with yellow LS6 springs. Also for a daily driver I don't like the idea of milling stock heads. So I paid $450 for my heads, sold my 317's for $300, will be selling the new LS6 springs for another $50. That's the difference of $100 only for me to upgrade to the 243's. $100 is cheaper than machining the 317's down and a lot more reliable. Especially around the Minneapolis area. And for the cam I'm going with the the fact I'm using the truck intake, there's no reason for me to port the heads or to have bought ported 243's even.
