Default 226 cam in and running.... kinda

I finished installing the new 226/.535/112 cam yesterday. I didn't get to tune it at all since I didn't have my edit cable either

Our club did a big charity Dyno Day today and I got to make a couple pulls with the old tuning I had from Nelson's when I had my Z06 cam and a couple of tweeks by the Dyno shop just so the damned thing would idle and not stall on the dyno.

It put down 304.5rwhp and 295rwtq. I still need tuning pretty bad and I need to get smaller pushrods to decrease some bad lifter preload I have. My AFR was 12.0 almost the entire pull with no KR. I will keep it rich though since the nitrous will go on in the next few weeks.

I am still running through the stock catback and Y-pipe with just a small Magnaflow muffler so I am thinking this might be killing my power a bit so I'll be changing that out as soon as I can save up some more cash. Overall the cam is WAAAY less drivable than the Z06 and WILL require tunning but I'll be damned if it doesnt sound mean as hell and I'm sure it'll make good power once everthing is dialed in.

I think 325rwhp is achievable without a pulley.

Wow, you got some ***** to give that baby a shot in your Z71. It should make more power than the LS6 cam, but you'll probably need to spin it past 6500 to take advantage of it. I bet it does lope just a little, doesn't it?

Hehehe

Yeah, it's pretty big but I figured no one else has really tried to go real big yet and I can get the cams so cheap and the sawp is so easy why not try it out.

The TQ band was really flat and never dipped below 270 till after 5900rpm and HP stayed above 270from 5000-6500 where I had my rev limiter

We'll see how it all goes with the changes I'm gonna have to make

I forgot to mention this was on an Eddy Current style dyno. If it was on a Dynojet it would have been a little higher since this Dyno loads the truck. Kinda cool.

I looked over my stock run on the same dyno from awhile back with just a Hypertech and a K&N and at 4400rpm I am now making about 15 more HP by 5300rpm I am making 40 more HP and by 5900rpm I am 90-100hp higher (hard to read the chart).

I'll try and get a chart style print of on the new dyno scanned if anyone is interested for comparisions.
