212/218 highlift cam with no stall?

I was wondering how a 212/218 highlift cam would work in a lq4 with 4.10s and longtubes and a locker with a good street tune and stock converter thanks.

It absolutely will... but that believe it or not may not be the right cam for you.
The high lift has a 115 LSA and no advance. despite its lack of duration, its a fairly rev happy cam. Similar to the stock LS6 and LS2 cams. It wont be the torque monster you think youre getting. The low lift is a 114 LSA with 2* of advance, and that is MUCH better for low end TQ.

I have a 2,500 HD that is stock to the paper filter...it does have a magnaflow muffler lol.
anyways I plan to run a low lift 212/218 on a 110+4 LSA on the stock converter (if I ever get around to finishing my s10) the HD is the tow pig.

The low lift would be a better cam choice in my opinion. Many will agree that the 212/218 is on the small side for a 6.0 but since you want to keep the stock converter the low lift version would be a nice mod to it. What are your goals for the truck and what are your plans for it later down the road?

I'm one of those guys that think the 212/218 is perfect for the 5.3, but too small for the 6.0. Maybe look at the BTR Stage III truck cam (218/224 .553/.553 113+3)? I had a 224/224 cam in my GTO for a couple years with a stock converter. Everyone tried to tell me it wouldn't work and the world would end. It ran fine. A 6.0 can easily handle a 220 duration cam on the stock converter.
