This is a very popular cam and I know many people have it here. I was wondering at what rpm's are you all shifting with this cam. I am currently shifting at 6200 with this cam and it seems it is still pulling very hard. I was ceonsidering raising my shiftpoints maybe 6300-6400. What do you all think?

I'm shifting mine at 6200 too. I thought about bumping mine up as well, but I don't want to push it with the stock rods and bolts. Is anyone else shifting at higher rpms?

As soon as I got EDIT I bumped the shift points up to 6500rpm. Went from 15.2-15.3s to 14.7, and picked up about 3-4 mph. The cam really wakes up past 6k. And I did it on an otherwise stock motor.

EDIT: Just thought of something--when I got the 4.8 dyno'd with the 212/218, I had the HPPIII and 6200rpm limiter, and remember that the graph was still climbing strong at the rev limiter.

Sometimes I wish I'd have kept the 4.8 and built a tranny/rear instead and gotten into the 13s with it. My mph was definitely there, just needed traction.

I am not afraid to rev my engine to 6400-6500 since I currently have 918's valve spring and TR hardened pushrods. I was just a little sketptical because according to comp cams this cam power range is from 1800-6000. Looks like i will bumping my shift shift points to about 6400. Anybody have any dynographs on this cam?

I'll have to scrounge mine up and post it. I don't have it scanned in unfortunately.

The comp cam recommended power range is for a 346 c.i. LS1. Since our motors are smaller, the power range is shifted up. At least this is my understanding from reading on this board.

You bring up a good point. I have read something similar about this. Anybody want to shed some light into this.

That's pretty much how I understood it. Different durations are needed to get the same effects from different CID's...

My 210/218 seems to sign off around 6,000 in my 6.0...

Also, some of your mods might assist in reving higher than Comp's advertised power range.

I've got my shift points set at 6180/1-2, 6350/2-3, with the rev limit at 6600. I think mine might make more power higher also with the heads but maybe not. I'm going put it on the dyno wednesday at Futral's shop and see what we can do.
