I just had my friend install the Dynomax cat-back kit and while he was at it deleted the rear cat’s and cleaned up the passenger side head pipe by removing all the crushed bends. From my understanding some of the newer full-size trucks have two cat’s up front and a down stream cat, but the 5.3L Colorado/Canyon trucks have 4 pup cat’s. For those of us used to the full-size world, the factory exhaust routing for the passenger side ran the exhaust out over the torsion bar to place the second catalytic converter on the outside of the bar for additional room and away from the transmission, but to go over the bar they crushed the hell out of the pipe for clearance and of course this made it necessary for them to have a couple of s-bends in the system, very crappy design for sure. I think it turned out quite nicely all things considered and still has excellent clearance between the transmission and torsion bar with the relocated piping. Of course all the piping is still stainless.
Here are a few pictures of the finished install.

A couple of images of the factory section of crushed piping.
