Default 2010 Silverado 6.2 mods

Hey Guys, Just picked up a 2010 Silverado 6.2. Kinda new to the truck world and was wondering what are the best bang for my buck bolt ons for the 6.2. Thanks for your input.

intake
longtubes w/full exhaust
tune (real dyno tune or custom tune NOT a handheld programmer stock tune)

those are the 3 main ones that will give you the most bang for the buck when working together!

New here.....I have similiar situation/question. I have the 6.2 in a 2011 Silverado. Since is has single 4" exhaust -- does anyone know for sure if making it a dual 2.5" with flowmaster 70's will hurt or improve performance?

The exhaust on the 2010 is 3.5"....... Did they change the design? Someone posted a while back (IIRC) that 3.5" is suppose to flow up to like 500HP without negative effects........

EDIT: Look at post #8. This should help with which exhaust setup will have the best flow for your application.

you really don't need an intake this early in the game. k&n drop in. long tube headers. a real tune.

agree with no intake. Long tube headers, Custom Tune (no handheld bs), and choose a Straight Thru design muffler. Flowmaster is Chambered which does Not master flow.

There are multiple stickys that explain bolt ons. All are going to be true for All Engines. Engines need the same stuff to run.

Sorry for the mistake.....wife says I always did measure things larger. My 2011 6.2 does have 3.5" not 4".
Still trying to decide whether to go with 2.5 or 3" AND either flowmaster 70's or magnaflow.

MAG the only way to go had flowmaster on my truck and they sound like A** so i put a magnaflow big body muffler on it to get it quiet but free and im very happy with the sound and quality! i think ive spent 300 on my total setup with tips out the back and the SS muffler, i still have 3.5"

Id leave the stock exhaust alone if I were you. The few that ahve swapped them out seem to just wish they wouldve left the stock exhaust on. A tune really helps these trucks out in the transmission department but from what Ive read there isnt a whole lot of power to be had from the usual spark adjustments. If it was my truck Id throw a K&N drop in filter in, tune, and headers. If you want more put an aftermarket cam in it or a blower on top.
