Default 2006 rcsb- Need exhuast opinions

hello everyone. This is my first post on the site, but I have reading through everything for quite some time now. I have a 2006 rcsb silverado, 4.8 5 speed 2wd. I want to do a muffler swap, and I am going to go with a spintech muffler. My hang up is on the 2.75 inch exhaust tubing chevy uses. I am thinking of using a 3 inch in and out muffler and a reducer on each end, and keeping the stock tailpipe, or using a reducer in the front and going with 3 inch tubing exiting before the rear tire. What is everyones opinion of either option? Any opinions of spintechs on these trucks would be appreciated too. I have read nothing but good things on this site, but many people I talk to in person have no idea what they are. Thank you in advance for any help!

I have no input as far as your muffler choice, but I would just dump the exhaust right before the rear axle. That's how I have it set up on my truck. A tailpipe delete looks clean if it's not built into your bodywork somehow IMO

i would go with a full 3" catback if you plan on more mods later. i dont know much about spintech, i know some nissan guys who ran it. I personally love my magnaflow, most do. Also borla and corsa are great and flow real well, but a little pricy. Dumped exhaust is cool but run it out the back if you dont like drone at all

I bought the GM Performance Touring Catback off eBay NIB for $200. It is pretty tame on our '03 4.8/NV3500.

The previous owner had a glasspack and turndown and that was too much. This keeps my teenage son from drawing too much attention.

If I did it again, I'd try the Sport version.

I put a 3 in. in and out muffler on my truck i just slid a piece of 3inch pipe over the factory pipe then into the muffler. The diameter difference between the od of the stock pipe and the id of 3 inch pipe makes a decent fit then just mig weld the joints.

A Spintech may get old fast depending on your taste. They sound great, but god damn are they loud.

blackcash, what model spintech do you have experience with? I'm considering the 6000 series, but I am worried it will do what you say and get old after a while. Also, this truck is my only vehicle.

I want to say the 9000, might be the 6000. It wasn't on my truck, but another member's on here (pl4yboy). It's a 6.2 truck with LT's, no cats and the Spintech dumped just behind the cab. Just cruising it wasn't that bad, we could still have a conversation in the cab, but if Justin touched the gas pedal at all. Game over. I want to try one on my truck, but with a full tailpipe see if that helps. Because they do sound awesome.

03 rcsb 4.3, NV3500. Had 3" cat back into 4" out in front of the passenger tire. all pipe. I enjoyed it but the cops didn't. Set off car alarms too and that got kinda old.

On my 2004 RCSB I was running a single flowmaster 40 series with a dump before the axle, sounds killer but I"m also running pacesetter long tubes and no cats, sounded like a old nova or chevelle, got rid of that set up and got a MBRP cat back split 60 degree duels, rather love the sound I got now, plus my bottom end pick up a bit.
