Default 2006 5.3...need some more power!!

hey guys.
i have a 2006 chevy silverado crewcab LT3 with the 5.3.i currently have a k&n fipk, spe proflash programmer, catback exhaust.i was wandering if pacesetter longtubes and y pipe would be worth the time and effort for the power you get?also i was reading up in a book that the LS6 cam is a nice cam to go with.can anyone chime in on this as well?
thanks guys.

lt's are definately worth it. **** the handheld tuner. buy hptuners/efilive/ls1edit. ls6 cam is good, I'm going with the TR224 after the end of this year and a stall. Eeveryone on this site I've seen so far has had good luck with the thunder racing cams.

the effort required for the lt install is about 4 hours which includes trying to figure out how to fit the driver side header in w/out ******* it up too bad... I had to bend the remote battery access bracket forward and move some wires and it went in smooth. do you have the LM7?

Welcome to PT.net.
I suggest you use the search function and do a lot of reading before deciding on a purchase. Some of us (me) could have saved some $$ if we had done this first!

If you bought your truck brand-new I believe you have 5-6 years before smog. At least 5 years before your first smog.

dump the handheld for a custom tune, get some longtubes, get a nice torque converter and go with a better cam than the ls6. just my opinion though

the longtubes will not effect the warranty on your motor. But, if your cats fail they might not cover the cats under warranty, if they do indeed fail within the warranty period.

pacesetter longtubes seem to be a good LT for the price. the pacesetter longtubes have been a pretty big hit on silveradoss.com. The price is great for a LT and performance has been good so far. On the SS the pacesetters takes some fab work(can't use stock cats). I went with dynatechs because they just bolt onto my current system. LT are def worth it. The truck just seems so much stronger now. Get a custom tune. Handhelds are worthless IMO. I had one and it doesn't compare to a custome tune.
