My 04 has that. It has an auto setting hwich goes by weight, and an off setting. Occasionally if I out a heavy package or something in the passenger seat it will turn it on, and it has the indicator on the mirror.

I was looking at the option list on chevrolet.com, and some still get rear discs. Also, it appears that the 5.3 HO is standard on the Z71, but it also shows the regular 5.3 as standard also. It shows all the HD models with rear discs, including the 1500 HD.

Default The L33 is Only Available in the ECSB.

I am not sure if it is restricted to just 4x4's or not.
I do know a dealership lot inventory manager. He says the L33's are not guaranteed to be in a truck if he asks for it. GM is trickling them in. For now anyway. If he orders 8 ECSB trucks 4 might have the L33 and 4 the LM7.

Why does the L33 have more power than the LM7? Is it just computer difference or did they actually do something mechanical?

All I know is that with electric fans, better heads, etc. That truck must have a VERY weak tune or it is very underrated to only show a 15hp gain and no torque. And there is no good reason to underrate a truck.

I read the article that was posted, but I still think this stinks of cost reduction. It's hard to believe that people feel the braking system on the 99-04 trucks was unresponsive and spongy. I think the stopping power that my truck has for a vehicle of it's size is flat-out amazing. Of course I still can remember when there wasn't a car on the road that had 4 wheel disc antilocks!

I dont know about braking distance becasue I never measured, but I know that the feel of my brakes suck. Sometimes I feel like I ma standing on them and the pedal is still spongy. Rear drums never bothered me on trucks, especially not the size they are using.

I am no where near impressed with my trucks stock brakes. Although 99% of my mods make it go faster it still stops like a greased pig sliding downhill on ice with the wind.

I keep hearing about the VHO trucks but when I look at the Chevy or GMC websites there is no mention of that truck. Are they a special order that you have to ask a dealer about?
