Default 2005 Trucks and new engines

Does anyone have the scoop on the 2005 GM trucks? I am very curious what motors are going to be rated at and if the LS2 improvements to the 6.0L are going to carry over somehow into the 6.0L in trucks with more power/torque. With the torque comments GM made about the LS2 at the Corvette introduction, it seems the new LS2 6.0L has a much stronger torque curve than the 6.0L(including LQ9) in trucks right now, across the entire RPM range.

Well, it SHOULD. It's designed for a high performance application. I REALLY doubt you will see much horsepower/performance increase when the truck engines move to the Gen IV. Power output is largely determined by things that will not likely change (Head design, Pistons/compression ratio, and Cam.) We might see some small changes that will be good for another 10 or so HP, but I wouldn't be expecting much.

The only major differences I can see are DOD and the fact that ALL the motors are going to be aluminum (at least thats the impression I have gotten from articles I have read.)

I don't think the body style is changing. Just some drivetrain stuff, like DOD, as grooves mentioned.

Thanks grooves. It would be nice to see the higher torque and flatter torque band of the LS2 6.0L in the trucks. The torque curve is stronger, flatter, and longer lasting than the 6.0L LQ9 in our Escalade.
