2005 Silverado 1500 z71 5.3 to 6.0 swap
I am new to this and I want to do a swap from a 5.3 to a 6.0. I will use this truck as my daily driver. I want to have a little more back bone to my truck. I have 33s and I just don't want it to downshift going up hills and when I hit the gas from a stop I would like it to have some get up and go. I was thinking about also doing a cam. What would y'all recommend. Stay with a stock lq4 or do a mild cam. And what kind of cam how much lift. So on.. Maybe keep the stock headers and do a magna flow exhaust with cold air intake?

Ever thought about re-gearing to make up for the tire size??
Would be cheaper than buying a motor.
But as for the motor, the stock 6.0 would be better than the 5.3 for torque for sure but will cost you mpgs, adding the cam could take more with your right foot. I can't suggest a certain cam as I don't know enough but do you want to run the stock stall still or upgrade that too??

Engine isnt going to keep it from downshifting going uphill, gears and tune would help with that more, it all realy depends on how deep you want to get, 6.0 would defintely give more power, as far as cam goes need to figurenout if you want higher stall, headers intaje upgrade etc etc etc?? Again how far do you want to take it??

The thing is I already have 210000 miles on it and it has lifters lap or something. A little tick. With low oil pressure. And I drive a lot on the highway
