any truck that can almost hit the speed limiter in second gear has too high of a gear. i've driven both a 3.42 and a 4.10 geared version. it's deffinitly noticable and once you begin to mod it, the results will be even greater. your rpm at a 70 cruise in something that big and heavy with that few cubic inches doesn't need to be below 2000rpm.

Who wants to get together a parts list to swap over to the 05 front brakes? Master cylinder, proportioning valve, booster,..... I wonder if you can get the old rear discs to work with the new fronts. Which proportioning valve would work best?
Inquiring minds need to know.

The new brakes are designed completely by Bosch, not GM. Literally EVERYthing is different. Taking the differences in volume and pressure between the two systems which has to be vastly different, I don't think the newer calipers would receive a proper feeding from the old GM-design master cylinder and booster. The rears would be a proportioning nightmare.

Deep Skirt Aluminum Block with cast in place steel sleeves. This is basically a 6 bolt main where the block extends below the crankshaft center line allowing for more rigidity and two more main bearing cap bolts to enter from the sides. The old hemi's and American motors used deep skirt blocks.
Nothing new other than the aluminum here. I'd like to know the new cam specs though.

This has me baffled. In the press release they claim that a smaller filter can be used with the returnless fuel system. So I guess if you have a truck with the returnless fuel system the fuel dispenser at your gas station senses it automatically and gives you fuel with less dirt in it! Of course! Stupid me...

My 'Hoe hit 62K this month. I'm on my FOURTH fuel filter.
