Default 2004 Chevrolet SS Truck..plz help

I just bought a new Chevy SS truck. I have heard rumors that with a chip and a pulley your could get them up to around 400-500 horse. Anyone know if thats true? And if so I would like to know where I can buy a chip for it that can do that. I don't want to get a programmer. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry man, whoever told you that was thinking about a Ford Lightning in which a chip and a pulley might still not get you that kind of power. A custom tune will do wonders for a 6.0L in the SS trucks. It isn't unheard of to get over 30 wheel hp from one. Here are a couple links to some tuners :

Maybe if you had a RADIX sitting on top. Sorry dood ... it'll wake up, but don't expect that much out of it.

Don't get depressed just yet. Once you tune that beast (do a search on Nelson Tune) it will make a huge difference.

a good exhaust-intake and a 93 nelson tune will yield great results.

there is no "chip" for a non replacable chip truck. just hand held programmers and custom tunes unless you do it yourself with a pc/laptop. the pulley can be had from asp. as for the hp numbers, that's one hell of a salesman.

Yeah even with a radix to get those #'s you would need some engine work done. But yeah with a nelson tune,and good intake and exhaust you will be happy. Good luck with the mods and let us know how things turn out for ya.
