Uh, the reg. cab SS there, would kill a lightning bone stock.. 395 Chevy v.s. 380 hp Ferd. And with a good driver than manual can be of help..

The Ferd as you call it puts out alot more low end torque than the SS could due to its blower. That torque will get the truck of the line harder. From a roll, the SS concept might have a chance, but not from a dead stop.

I'ld put my money on the Chev (with a good driver) Clutch work could easily take the stock Ferd convertor. Would need stickier tires though.

I also subscribe to Hot Rod.

They were mistaken, the truck pictured and described in their mag is a concept, and will NOT see production at any time during 2003. The only SS were going to see anytime soon is the 6.0 245 horse X-Cab.

with 395 hp it should hang pretty well with a lightning stock, if not beat one....
