Default 2001 K2500 8.1L Performance?

Im picking up a 2001 K2500 with a 8.1L Vortec and lift kit, and ive owned a 98 Trans Am WS6 and 00 Z28 camaros in the past with a lot of power and just wanted to know what kind of performance parts do they have for the 8.1L?? i saw kenne bell has a supercharger out but it cost like 5K. does a LS1 cam fit in the 8.1L?? and heads and cams for the engine?? also would nitrous be worth it? I want a little more power then the 270AWHP it comes with stock.

no LSX internals will fit the 8.1L it is a completely different motor

no nitrous unless you change pistons ask tierod about that (he blew out a few pistons)

the 8.1 is known for weak pistons and oil consumption

i like the looks of the whipple kit.. pm tbyrne sponsor on here(dont remember his name) or whippled 496 aka Linda

look up raylar engine performance for heads, cam, intake manifold, strokers, pistons but they are expensive

i think comp cams and vhp have small cams for them

stainless works for headers

westers is popular for tuning

with a lift you need a set of gears if you dont already have them

8.1L is just a Current Generation BigBlock V8. So dont forget to check out GM Performance Parts.

Its not a sponsor, but i'm just linking to a catalog. Mods if this is no good please remove it.

looks like a 4" suspension lift if its a body lift it was done right

where i am there are a couple of trucks with body lifts and no bumper relocation brackets and it looks like ***... a 3 1/2 inch gap between the tailgate and rear bumper is no good

nice truck with lots of potential

Thanks for the replys guys, I love the truck so far (besides the gasmileage)
The only problem with the truck is the tires rub real bad when I turn real hard.
So im going to have to do a suspension lift on it... oh and for the gay *** hood scoops, those are coming off as soon as I can.. damn owner before me!
The trucks got magnaflow exhaust and a trailer brake and I dont know what else its got done to it, but I plan on beefing up the engine with a Nice heads, cam package and intake and maybe some Long tube headers or something.

Try jacking the torsions up in the front to give the tires some more room. 8.1 love nitrous but the pistons don't. LOL
