Default 2000 Z71 4.8 Build

Hello all!

I have a 2000 z71 4.8 with a nv3500 5 speed. I am looking to upgrade the engine with headers and a cam. Possibly other items. What would y’all think as far as cam specs since it is a manual trans. I would like to maximize bottom end torque but would like a lope. I know that typically low end torque and a Lopey idle don’t go together but I just want to see what y’all know!

Thanks!

You may want to stick with a smaller camshaft if bottom end torque is a concern, many of a larger cams do aim towards high revving applications where they want power to continue far past 5,500-6,000rpm.

Maybe look into some of the stuff BTR has to offer, even call them up.
