2000 silverado l96 swap

Default 2000 silverado l96 swap

Hi guys I have a l96 swap single cab the old set up was a big cam 5.3 with the same headers.. before i never had any issues with it burning up spark plug wires but now its a weekly issue i just keep warranting out stock ones at autozone but I tried the edlebrock high heat ones and they lasted all of 3 days it's only on one bank as well the driver side i heard someone somewhere makes porcelain plug wires but I couldn't find them any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated

Have you tried heat wrap yet?
You sure it isn't touching the primary?

Heat wrap was my first thought as well but if it wasnt doing it before then then id maybe look else where. have you hit the primaries with a temp gun to see if any are running excessive temps? if so then that cylinder is likely not burning all the fuel in the cylinder. what injectors are being used, the same ones as before? Have you done an injector balance test or verified there isnt a misfire happening causing excessive heat? Was it tuned after the cam install? I have long tubes on my 5.3 with a mild cam and ive never burned up anything. Alternatively, if you still have cats, maybe one is plugged causing the high heat?

Accel has wires with ceramic boot on the Spark plug side. Accel Extreme 9000 Series

I just got them and did a little test drive and they worked perfect last set of duralast specials made it a 10 minuet drive and 2 pulls lol the accels dont rest on the headers either!

I use taylor wires with the 45° boot. Clears the headers perfectly.
