I get 16.1 according to my electronic fuel mileage indicator on my guages. Im in a 06 crewcab with the 5.3L. I have intake and exhaust but fuel mileage stayed pretty much the exact same.

Best I've seen in my 00 was 17.5 mpg with a Predator 1.03 tune, but my average was like 16 mpg untill I put in a 180* stat then it droped to 14-15mpg. Put the stock 187* stat in and got the Predator updated to 2.12 along with a MAFT to zero my LIFT's and reduce KR. Still tuning...

On my 1999 5.3, with 3.73 gears, Airaid CAI, JBA ceramic coated shorty headers, and Gibson single cat-back exhaust, I gained 2 mpg. Mixed city-highway 17.5, open freeway 21+ (Not to mention more power).

A custom tune will also help, my PCM4less tune gained 1 mpg by itself.

Only short trips like 10 minutes back and fourth around town on my 4 x 4 5.3 3.73 I get about 13 on the low side. The newer 5.3's seem to get better milage.

As for highway I seldom see it enough to get an idea how a tank or only highway would be.

Intake/exhaust and tune here.

****, the way I've been driving lately it’s been around 13.5 mpg.
If I cant make it to the drags one week I end up taking it out on street.
