200 amp alternator?
#1
I just started a build up for my 6.0L swap. I've been looking for a decent high power alternator for the set up.
Has anybody tried one of These Mean Grean 200 amp units . I've heard good things about Mean Grean products on my stock jeep, but I don't know if there is something better for the 6.0L.
I'll be running a winch, Off road lights, air compresor, ETC.. and hopefully not all at the same time, but I've always liked being prepared.
Thanks
Jason

What does "a 140 amp duramax alt" cost and would it be able to handle all the extra equipment I'm planning on running. This will be a vehicle sort of set up for me to go out into the woods and live for a week or two. I'll have a an inverter, high power heater, and several other electric accessories, and I'd like to make sure that I buy the right thing first, not have to upgrade again later.
I won't be buying anything for about 6 to 8 months, budget prioritized in another direction, but now is a great time to research, when I can't buy anything, that way I don’t jump the gun.

It is a 145 amp, should be able to find them for approx $135.00
Should run everything you have I believe..
I run:
External SX fuel pump
STS Methanol injection pump
Aeromotive Methanol pump
High volume electric water/air intercooler pump
Weldon oil return pump
Vivair air compressor
Amp for my stereo
etc..
Granted everything isnt being used all the time at the same time but there are instances when they are all running..
