Default 2 new mods for my truck

Just Ported and Polished my TB and while I was at it I did the TB coolant mod. After cranking it up and taking a few spins around the block all I can say is wow! For those free mods I notice a definite increase in throttle response. I'm happy with them. Just let'n you guys know.

What are these mods and how do you do them? I think I know what the EGR tube mod is.

I just ported and polished my tb as well this weekend too. I can't say that I noticed much of a power increase but throttle response picked up.

Anyone have any links to a website showing how this is supposed to be done? I keep see people talking about it, but I haven't seen any before & after pics.

how what is to be done? porting the TB? i'm not sure that there is a site with pics, it's just something you do. just take out the lip in front of the blade and basically remove all the rougn casting and make the inlet bigger all around. i don't know what this egr restrict mod is but i have no egr so i guess it doesn't matter.

Yeah, pull off your throttle body and feel the inside. It is rough cast and feels like sandpaper, but look where the blade is, and you can see that it is polished smooth. Use some 300, 400, 600, then 800 paper. It will take about 2 hours of your time, just smooth it out, and stay away from the already polished part, since this is vital to how the vehicle runs. You don't need to sand off any parts, just smooth it all out. If you look at other throttle bodies on most vehicles, you will see that most vehicles TBs are already polished through.. I don't know if this gives better power, but it does make your throttle response feel much better and faster to react. I used to always feel a hesitation when getting on the gas, after this it seems instantanious.

Oh yeah, don't forget to clean the hell out of the thing with Carb cleaner, and to not get anything on the wire hook up, if yours is drive by wire. In my book B12 by Chemtool is the best carb cleaner I have used, and it does not have any waxes like a lot of carb cleaners!
