Default 2 1/2" or 3"

Well I had a couple of questions about exhaust, I'm getting brand new exhaust on my truck and I'm takin out all the old pipes, now here's my dilema, should I go with 2 1/2" pipes or 3" pipes, and wat are the differences? I'm getting true duals and my other question was should I get a X pipe or H pipe and what are the benefits of each, I'm getin bullet muffles and high flow cats, jus let me know wat yall think would be best, 2 1/2" or 3" and X pipe or H pipe, thx

Well....what engine do you have and what truck is the first question. Dual 2.5" pipes is good for 500hp but anything over that you might want to step up to 3".

2.5 SHOULD be enough but if your pushing 400HP I vote 3" also if you have really long pipes or complex and alot of bends and there not mandrel bigger tubbing helps. As far as X or H pipes and X pipe does a better job of ballancing so go with an X if you can

The LS1 trucks require a certain amount of back pressure for optimal performance. If your truck is still virtually stock, 3" pipes would be overkill...also, with that much space in the 3" pipes, you would get a lighter boost of air flowing through your mufflers which would result in a quiet and/or raspy effect in sound performance. And if I hear you riding around with Dynomax bullets I will shoot you... just kidding...

sounds like a dynomax bullet to me lol. they sound good for the money and flow way better than most aftermarket mufflers.
