1983 Chevy 1/2ton w350

Just bought my new truck from my Gfs brother.
truck has TONS of new parts including new(less than 10K miles) 350 crate motor.
Anywho....here's my tuning question.
the former owner put a slightly bigger cam in the truck. It also has a gear drive and four barrel holley carb(4160)
What should the timing be set at? Or even just in general...what should happen to the timing with bigger cams?
The truck has decent power but i'm pretty sure it should have more.
Thanks for any help!

i used to have a 84. I love the body style. I had a marine 350 with a big cam and a carter comp 4brl. In general increase in cam size requires an increase in timing. My timing was set at 12-15 degrees, depending on if i was racing it or not. with the increase in timing it will idle faster, just adjust the idle back to around 750-800 and it should be good to go. I believe the stock timing is around 7 degrees tdc. Hope this helps.

I run 38 degrees total advance in my Generation II small block chevy. When I spray it with 150 shot I drop it around 2-4 degrees. I run a comp cam .292/.292 .501/.501 lift with 1.6 rockers it brings it to .534/.534 lift.
