It depends on how much weight you lose on each wheel. If you are removing a heavy 18"wheel/tire comb and putting on a light weight low profile wheel/tire combo you might see a better than1/2sec improvement. If the 18s are light, going back to a 16"steel wheel/tire combo you might see no improvement or even go slower.

Sounds about right I guess. I ran solid 16.5 with my 3.73 gears and open diff with the stock wheels and tires.
I got an eaton and 4.10s in, but didn't get to run with the stock wheels and tires because I got the dubs before I got a chance to run at the track
Got the 20s, then ran, so I didnt get to see the difference. I ran a 16.4 with the 20s.
I'm going to run again but with the stockers on and see how I do. Hopefully 16 flats, I dunno.

With 16" wheels,4.10s and a posi you should see mid to low 15s in a 4.8 regular cab,a high 14 wouldn't be surprising.I actually think big wheels hurt a 4.8 more, because of their lack of lowend torque.

yeah Chingon and those boss motorosports 20s areant even close to being light i always want to weigh them but im afraid to find out what they really do... youll definitly break into 15s by dropping the 20s for some stockers

alright my actual situation is that im running a consistant low 15 on the gtech... 15.2, 15.3, etc. with a best of 15.1. right now im running eagle alloy 18s with 255/55/18 toyos. im thinking that if i go to stockers i will break into 14s. could i?

I doubt you would see much difference unless you went with 20lb Centerlines and 255/50/16 Drag radials.A Yank 3000 with the wheels and tires you have would easily get you into the 14s.

i think the eagles i have are somewhere around 30lbs each. i would think stockers with low profile tires would easily cut off a few tenths. how much do stockers weigh? btw, i want to be in the mid 14s before i get the stall

Close to 30lb,you have a pretty good combo. The stock wheel/tire combo is about 60lb.
