So I searched and I see there has been alot of talk and descusion about changing the rear end on our trucks, but I havent actually seen a true defenate answer to anyones question on how hard it would be. I am about to break down my truck and start the build up come next week and while its down and all taken apart I was thinkin I would put a stroger rear end in it. Anyone at all have any helpful information for me on this? If there is a kit, or anything that would be a direct bolt up would be best but if i have to peice one together then thats fine too, just lookin for some advice. Thanks

Well you know the Ford ( i know i said Ford) 9inch is like one of the best rearends out there. If you want to keep it GM, then see what it would take to put the 14 bolt in your truck. Just an idea.

I'm obviously running the 14 9.5" in mine, and it's held up. The thing is w/ the Ford 9" is that there's tons of different gear ratios, and w/ the 14 bolt, there's only a select few. I think there's 3.55, 3.73, 4.10, and 4.56s. But w/ the Ford there's everything in between.
