1.85 rockers
#1
would there be any real advantage of running 1.85 rockers on a stock motor, I know more lift, but would it be more beneficial just to buy a cam instead, like tsp 220 or "old man truck" cam? I know the 220 would make big power, but i dont want to get too involved with the truck but I do want it to run faster, maybe even a 100 shot down the road but simple stuff af far as bolt on's, exhaust, cold air, tune, and either rockers or cam and springs. I'm thinking if the 100 shot comes into play then the rockers would help out more there, jsut don't know if I want to tear into it that much. thx

I vote for the cam. With the rockers you get lift, but very little change in duration. And they are expensive. If they were $25-$50 then I would consider them, but they're like $400 or something (ridiculous IMO). For that much, just spend a few more dollars and get a cam.

I tried it, I put 1.8s on my SS. I saw alittle difference, not much. Then I did the cam about a month after the rockers, Just do the cam. I had the rockers already so it limited my cam choice. I am pretty happy with it now though. I think I am one of the only ones around here with 1.8s, I know 02Denali used them on his last cam before the new one.
