Neither set that I installed required extending 02 sensor harnesses. And the single piece y really didn't make it all that much more difficult to do, but going between the passenger header and the exhaust is a tight fit and having to move the exhaust enough to jam the two ball socket joints together and getting the driver side together simultaneously made me appreciate the multi-part kooks, but it may have been easier to just ratchet strap the factory exhaust back out of the way until the front pieces were together.

So after calculating shipping costs for the ARH, they will run me about $200 more than the Kooks. That's $100 less than the On3 Performance turbo kit...

I wish it was that easy. I found the kooks on sale and summit did a price match. $1400 shipped with cats and 1 7/8 primaries.

Don't order Kooks from Maryland Speed unless you want to sit on your thumbs for 2-3 months.

Happy with the quality, fit & finish of my Kooks. Skip the green cats, they're snake oil.

I think you would be happy with either... I have seen some dyno results indicating the ARH are slightly more horsepower on the particular vehicle tested that day... ARH didn't have headers for my particular application so I bought them for a Silverado SS. I have a 2004 2500 4x4 with a 6.0. The only mods I had to do was cut a boss of the transmission housing that is not being used and cut the wire retainers for my O2 sensors so I could route them further foreword. The SS being and extended cab and mine being a crew cab the 02 sensors were located differently. Neither job was a big deal and added maybe 20 minutes to the install time. Again, this was because they didn't make them for my exact model.... As far as the headers fit, they are great. Lots of room around everything. No leaks. I installed new GM gaskets with a touch of permatex orange high temp.

I have a set of Kooks and can't for the life of me keep the damn collectors tight. It seems like every time I fill up I have to retighten them as the ticking keeps coming back. I even have them double nutted. I'm seriously considering ruining them and just welding the collectors just as I did with the rest of the y pipe. The band clamps on the slip fit Y were a joke. Save yourself the aggravation and just weld the Y pipe from the start.
Honestly for the money I paid I'm very disappointed in the constant leaking. I mean for the same price I could have gotten cheap headers and a cam.

I never contacted them about it as I had eventual plans to modify the midpipe and add v band clamps so I just pressed forward. The headers are very nice, I liked the figment and primary routing better then other brands.

6 of one, half dozen of another I suppose.
You really should have contacted them!! I had the exact same issue with my Kooks and they thought I was crazy and that no one else every had any problems. Oh no nothing slips past our QC! I finally got them to send me a coupler/slip fit piece to fix it. I just sawed the flange off and then slipped on the new piece. Only draw back is that you have two leak points close together.

I got shipped the wrong product three times. It was a huge effort on my part to force everyone to give me the correct parts.

Again. I had the same problem. The bolts would back off and cause ticking. I had to use my "20V" Dewalt electric impact to get them tigher than I could do by hand, This caused some slight bolt/nut deformation and they finally stopped backing off. The slip fit that connects the drivers side to the connection pipe (right by front of trans) leaks because it is at a slight angle. It shows black soot running down the pipe. I failed VA state inspection because they said they could feel a small pulse from the slip fit.

Welding would be good but make it harder to remove. I am thinking about trying to find some AL tape rated for exhaust or something.

Kooks really needs to look into the quality of their kits. Even when I showed them all the pictures of I took of the quality issues they were unfortunately dismissive. But at least they did send me a repair kit I installed my self. I haven't had a valid state inspection since December. Just don't have time to fix all the leaks or find an inspector that doesn't care.

Damn, i wish i heard the negative reviews before I bought the kooks. I just installed them today, and the seem to fit great. The only problem i have now, is that the merge pipe outlet/exit flange does sit at a straigh 90 degree angle to the truck. I'm not sure what the stock pipe orientation is, since i never had the stock exhaust on this truck. But now i have a 5 inch gap between the mid pipe flange and my mufflers pipe flange. Ill probably have to get a tow to a muffler shop and have my exhaust side extended to the merge.

Ill probably weld the slip fits myself if they leak.
