At what RPM in 2nd does it shift to 3rd? The ratio of 1st vs. 2nd and 2nd vs. 3rd are the same.

It looks like you were letting off before the end of the track. A 9.7 1/8th should be a mid to low 15.

I know i wasn't letting off before the end of the track, im 98% sure it has to be the 2-3 shift.

1st gear shifts at 5700 or there about, and shifts into second. Second gear starts at about 3400-3500rpm, and shifts at 5500 or thats what it looked like at a quick glance, then it shifts into third. Third gear starts off at 2000-2300 rpms, which then takes forever to get up in the MPH which is why everyone is saying that my trap speed is way below what it should be, and i believe if i have nelson change the 2-3 shift to have 3rd start off in 3200 then i should have raised trap speeds and a lower e/t. correct?

Please help me, its starting to **** me off that im .5-.8 slower than what most 4.8L's are running.

Not too sure. The Cummins is going on the dyno Wed. With almost 40psi boost and N2O. Should pull about 650rwtq. And just wait till I get the bigger turbo and injectors in.

I had the same problem with my truck. My truck shifts out of second at 5500 and it just dies out. I wanted to shift it myself but I got rained out. I thought my truck had a low mph also. I ran.
2.25 60 ft
9.57
74.28 mph
15.01
88.54 mph.

I figure that 74mph in the 1/8th should be about 91mph in the 1/4. I think we both have the same problem and that is the low rpm shift to third gear.

Don't feel to bad about your times, mine aren't much better and I've got more mods than you. My last time out to the track I ran 15.7 and 15.8 I think. Could have even been a 15.9. My 60' times were 2.3 and 2.4's. My truck is also a RCSB and has 94,XXX miles on it. I don't know my altitute and all, but it's not real high. Can't remember the temps either.

My mods are :Edelbrock shorties (wish I'd have gotten longtubes), K&N Generation II FIPK, Flowmaster, 160 degree thermostat, LS1 Edit (not much of a tune in it though), and Centerline 20's.
