Default 07 6.0 352hp/382tq, any one modified yet?

I was wondering if anyone has done anything to these motor with the cylinder deactivation yet?

Ive been look at the 2500 / 3/4 ton burbans and ran across a used 07 with the 6.0... i really want the 8.1 but considering they are so hard to find with low miles and good price i think i might have to go with a 6.0..

What all can be done with in reason to get more tq out of this motor with out voiding all the warranty.

Whats wrong with a Duramax if your looking for TQ in a burban there is nothing better unless you want to mod a 8.1 and get 5mpg!!! YOU can do alot more with a duramax for less money and get more even though you pay more at first for it, the more you do to a duramax the better the mpg in moderation!

I don't think the Duramax, or the 8.1 for that matter, is even offered in the Suburban any longer.
Here is what is on the Suburban website -
"Vortec V8 Engines
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next-generation Vortec V8 engines have taken a big step forward in power, performance and efficiency. The Vortec 5.3L V8 engine standard on half-ton 2WD models generates 320 horses, more standard horsepower than any competitor.(1) The available Vortec 6.0L V8 in half-ton models creates 366 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque. Both feature Active Fuel Management™ technology, which allows for seamless movement from eight cylinders to four cylinders with no reduction in available power. The Vortec 6.0L standard in three-quarter-ton models has all the power and torque you expect from a Chevy Truck."

A supercharger is the easiest way to add big-block torque without voiding your warranty.

So very true, but i need a suburban. 2006 was the last year for a 8.1 in the burban... But the dealer that have low miles used ones want about $5k less than what i can buy a new 07 for with the new body style and get the 100K miles warranty..

I also looked at doing the D max swap in the suburban.. Cant justify the price and not having ANY warranty at all... www.duramaxsuburbans.com They say the conversion is $25K + your suburbans and parts.

for that much money you could have one heck of a nice supercharged 408 and even have money to make up for the extra gas and repairs

Holy crap! $25k plus your Suburban? Sounds like the Suburban Gorilla project on Xtreme 4X4, that thing was like $49k for a vehicle that is titled as something like an 87 Suburban.
I don’t understand why GM stopped offering a diesel in the Sub. It’s hard to believe that it has been 7 years since the last diesel was available. I know the Allison doesn’t fit in the stock SUV tunnel but they could have easily lifted the body 2 inches like they did on the HD trucks to get it to fit.
