Say you just bolted it on in your driveway and got it tuned. It would out perform any cammed setup on your truck. And at $2800, its a good deal. You'd actually be saving some money.

Also, leave TM in the tune. Until you get transmission upgrade/work done.
^^^This. Dollar for dollar, by the time you buy cam, pushrods, valvesprings, headers, converter, and tune, you'll make power hp AND tq, and have better mpg if you can keep your foot out of it.

You said that you're thinking about lifting the truck and adding 34 or 35 inch tires down the road. The tq from the Maggie is what you're going to want. And yes, the L33 does like the Maggie.

i would have to definatly save up a little cash if i did this, if i did get the supercharger i wouldnt need a different cam or any valvetrain upgrades? wouldnt need a different converter or anything? i would definatly love to put a supercharger on but just what would i have to all upgrade to not get destroyed by the added power of it? if i did have the torque management tuned out would it just destroy the trans? how do the stock transfer cases hold up to all this added power?

thanks,
nick

A cam and converter will help out a lot. But you don't need them for it to run good.

I'd run torque management if it were mine. Then figure out if you want to stay with a 60e. And then have it built to handle some power. Or go to a 4l80e.

I'd add a bigger cooler and maybe a deeper pan on the transmission for now.

Transfer cases seem to hold up. There's some 4wds on here making pretty big power. I'm not sure if they did anything to the transfer case. I'm not sure what they can handle. I'd don't run a 4wd.

how much does it cost to have the tranny mildly built, are they pretty easy to tear apart and do? i am going to school for auto technician so i could probably build it up myself. is there and easy things i can start with? like would a corvette servo help the tranny out? and where could i get a deeper pan and bigger cooler?

I've never run a 60 behind a boosted engine. I can only tell you experiences from people I know. They could never keep a built 60e together behind a boosted engine.

I'm looking at a hughes transmission pan from summit for $170. Tru Cool 40k transmission cooler are on ebay for ~$140. Been told by the guy who built my 60e; Keeping it cool is the key. So a bigger cooler and a higher capacity pan will help do that. And they are relatively cheap mods, that can be done in your driveway.

A vette servo is just bigger than stock. It basically holds the rpm between the 1-2 shift better. Its a good, cheap mod. Also easy to do yourself.

If it were me boosting the truck, I'd think about the pan and cooler. Keep TM in the tune. Go easy on it off the line. And start getting parts for a 80e swap. You can reuse the cooler. And you can get most of your money back on the pan, by selling it.
