Default 04 Denali muffler question

I’ve got a 04 Yukon Denali installing headers, cai, electric fans, porting the tb and tuning it. The Exhaust is duals into the muffler then switches to one. The owner wants it quiet but doesn’t want a restriction. Would the stock muffler and tail pipe be a restriction or does it need to go along with the logs and cats. Thanks

Removing the stock muffler will make it loud if you remove the cats as well. Heck even with the cats gone and the long tubes installed it's going to be pretty loud without a resonator of some sort.

If you do remove the stock muffler you will need atleast 1 good resonator and a muffler choice that is not crazy loud. Even adding in a high flow cat after the y-pipe can act as a resonator.

My SUV with LT headers and stock muffler was "fairly" loud. like 3/10 with 1 being stock and 10 being race car. Most people commented on exhaust noise.
