Angry 03 SS Problem

My bosses 03 SS has a noise (growling/vibration sound) when coasting through corners (IE coffee shop drive through). GM is stumped and says it's normal. Anyone have the same sounds and know what repaired it. We're leaning towards the transfercase needing to be replaced.
thanks

Gerry

Check over at SilveradoSS.com in the AWD section. I seem to recall a couple of people have had an issue with that, but I don't recall what the deal was. A small amount of growl when parking or other low speed cornering activities, seems to be the norm.

Yeah, it seems to be normal. Mine does it going a slow turn to the right. Low growl. GM says it is fine, it hasn't gotten worse so I guess I just have to live with it unless a recall comes out or it gets worse.

Add me to the list. It sounds like a rotational grinding. Only happens at low speeds at very sharp turns. I notice mine on right hand turns mostly. I'm not really worried, I'll just keep and eye out for a TSB regarding the issue.

I have a mild version of this malady. Slight noise on turns... most noticable when turning up into a driveway (sharp turn + elevation change). I won't be worried unless it starts getting louder.

Mine does it too... I choose to just ignore it.

Increasing the front tire pressure about 2psi over the rears, helped quiet mine down.

Thought I had it, but it went away.
