Talking 02 maf on 04 WOW!

.Put my descreend mass air on buddies 04 today and it is like a different truck he has an bone stock 04 ecsb Z71 with 5.3 and a 70 gallon diesel tank in the back full to the top and it feels like it pulled harder than my 02 rcsb 5.3 2wd with a couple mods but it sounds like detonation going on bad. Did they change the mass air even though the numbers are the same? My truck didn't feel any different with his

Nothing. I think they are the exact same. I had a couple of spares, so I took one and built it into my homemade intake tube. It jus thappened to be out of an 01. I noticed nothing different between before and after I installed the different MAF. All my logged items like air/fuel and trim values were the same before and after. It still has the screen on it, just like my stock one.

Big Tex,

Do you know what values to change if you were to take the screen out ?

Nope. You'd have to log your raw MAF hz at the same time you log your trim values. Then you'd basically try to come up with a % amount needed to change the MAF tables at various rpm levels and trim cells. Then relog and do the same thing over until there is nothing needed to be changed. More than I feel like doing, but it would probably run fine w/o the screen anyway. It may lean you out some, but most trucks could use that.
