Totaled my 2000 Silverado 4.8.
Now in a 2004 Tahoe Z-71....
Getting Hypertech, Flowmaster, and cold air intake.
Anything else that won't void my warranty...

If you haven't gotten those parts yet, don't.

HPP3 fails in comparison to a custom tune. Far more power is available and is transparant to the dealer.

Flowmaster sounds good but adds very little power, Magnaflow is a better choice or a Dynomax. I'd see if some Tahoe guys will chime in here as I'd think the Flow would resonate quite a bit in the box.

Any of the flomasters will drown out any conversation in the cabin, unless you get the 50 SUV series, I think they might be quieter.

To get a custom tune I need to take my computer off and send it in for programming right.
So I need an extra one to use meanwhile.

As for the HHP3 I have the one from my truck I was going to send it to Hypertech and get it upgraded to the '04

What kind of Magnaflow or dynomax do you guys think I should get.

Most custom mail order tuners send you a PCM with a core charge...no down time at all. HPP3s are nice on ebay...

Well I have used a 50 Series Big Block Muffler and it drones a lot, annoying. I have used a 5x11x22 Magnaflow and it's too quiet. The 5x8x18 seems to be a good all around at WOT and cruise levels.

So who does custom tuning? and how much?

As far as exhaust I want the extra horses but don't want it to be loud. What should I go for, the 5x11x22 Magnaflow perhaps?

What about headers? They worth putting on? What about warranty?

Um... Nelson Performance and Westers Garage do custom tuning.

That 5x11x22 is a BIG muffler, measure before you purchase it as it may be a tight fit.

Yes headers will help a lot, full length ones espically...short tube not so much. Warranty is going to be per dealer, if you have some engine problems, the dealer would probably blame the headers to some extent inorder to deny you coverage.

Spoke to Allen; definitely going with his custom tunning. Still don't know about the exhaust.

If you don't want the sound that comes with most performance mufflers, that 5x11x22 would probably work very well for you. It's very quiet but flows great.

The one I have is a 3" in/dual 2.5" out...I've been looking to get something louder for a while now. The muff is currently on my Ford if you're interested shoot me a PM...you can have it cheap.
