Default *Paging* Blue Cajun..

Hello! Well let me say that your truck kicks some f*ckin ***. Love it. In fact my mods are pretty closely going to match yours. I'm doing the exact same engine stuff (cam, fans, lt's, ORY, gears, etc.) except for my Corsa and I'm not sure what CAI you have. I have a few questions for ya. What size stall and temo stat are you using? On the Nelson site you listed a TCI 3000 stall but wasn't sure if you might have changed it. And is the cam/converter combo streetable? I'm not sure if this truck is your DD or if you tow or anything. And did doing the Hotchkis springs in the front help your handling more than doing 2" drop LCA's? Also what shocks are you runnnig in the rear and what are your 60 ft's? Mine is an extended cab with slightly less factory hp, but I'm shooting for around 340-350 at the wheels. Thanks for your help!

Oh and what do you think an extended cab with your engine would run? I was hoping for at least mid-to-high 13's.

hey,
i'll try to answer your ?'s in order.

my cai is and airaid filter/box with 4" pvc pipe to the throttle body. the stall is still the same 3000 and the t-stat is 180 (if that even makes a difference). yes, the cam and converter is very streetable and i do drive it everyday. in the city i average 14.5mpg. recently, i took a 10hr. trip to louisiana and averaged 19mpg with a/c on doing 75mph (that's turning between 24 and 2500 rpms). towing, i haven't towed yet but i've hauled around 4 to 500lbs. in the bed with no problem. when i start towing my chevelle in years to come, the stall will probably come out if it can't handle it and i'll probably go with something smaller like a trailblazer stall or similar. i don't know much about the lca's but myself and everyone else likes the handleing with the hotchkis springs. i'm still running stock shocks all around and my best 60' i've pulled was a 1.73.
my engine in an ext cab, i'd have to say 12.90's probably.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it. I would be SO happy to get a 12.90 but I doubt it will happen. Even a low 13 would be enough to rattle some LS1 f-bodies and GT's doors. Your 60' is pretty darn impresive with stock shocks, it hooks well. Wish I could get the truck to pull some 1.30s like my Camaro does lol. Well hopefully I will have as much success as you have, are you going to do anything else to it?

can I join the Cajun fan club too... pleeeeease
j/k
Lance does have a very nice running truck, hopefully you can get yours to respond to mods as well as his has. He preaches that "it's all about your combo"... which is to say how well your mods compliment each other. So keep in mind he is dealing with a bit less weight than you are.

keep us posted to your results...

i dont believe that when it comes down to it the time difference beteeen ext cab and reg cab would be only 4 tenths. weight speaking thats only about 400lbs....i'd expect to see at least a second difference between the two body styles

I do believe it could be about .5 diff. in times with same mods and weight reduction.

just remember that an x-cab is about 5 to 700 lbs heavier than a rcsb, and sometimes it is a little harder to get them to hook

the truck is pretty much at it's high point. if anything else it would be 100 shot but probably not since it's so reliable right now.

my truck full weight is around 4400 and an ext cab is around 4800. so you can say 4/10's off my time would be in the 12.90's with weight reduction.
