This is weird. It's probably a very simple think that we're all missing (like spark plugs )

Can you test for spark on all coils? That way we can narrow down banks / PCM etc.
I agree..
bad cell in a battery(?) or something simple............

Would you agree??
This is a newly built engine correct? Did you happen to check the runnout on the crank reluctor ring when you built it? .020" is max runnout.

Also, it doesn't have a genIV crank in it with the wrong reluctor ring does it?

No spark in no coils. That's the problem. I dunno why it's that way.

Crank and cam sensors are counting cycles, so they gotta be working.

Battery is a new Yellow top.

Right crank, I'm almost sure of it is anyways. I didn't check the runout, but I know it's counting so I can only assume it's working right.

Nathan, how about power "TOO" the coils???
do you get spark from any of them at all?
also is the cam degreed correctly??
I know thats a stupid question. but it's the only reason I can think of as to why it wouldn't fire.

still if need be I could probably get a hold of a PCM if you need one..
just have to see what I could do.

Power to the coils and they have a ground going by the post above.

No spark from any of them.

Cam is degreed and installed with the 4* of ground in advance taken out.

I am almost to the point of looking for a new PCM.

Just an idea but hard to check with the engine in it but if you got a new cam that has never been run, could they have messed up and ground one for a gen4 engine. Pretty sure they don't even have the reluctor ring on the back of the cams on them???
Man You've got me stumped. I did leave the battery ground cable off the block once before and it turned over fine but wouldnt fire....go figure.

There is a ground on the side of the block right behind the power steering pump REALLY easy to miss.

I don't recall doing this one. My battery is not on the same side though, and if I remember, that's where the battery was grounded to the block. I will check that one out as well.

Tha cam did have a reluctor ring on it.

I know for a fact that the ground that comes outta the harness at the back of the engine on the passenger side head... will screw alll kinds of stuff up if it's left off, rodents like to chew on that for some odd reason around here. Maybe check to see if your knock sensors are plugged in...?? as I see this being a requirement to enable spark at start-up...being an 03 it probably has electric throttle..make sure all of that is working properly as well.. just a few more to check
