Z71 vs. 4x4
#1
Sorry i orginally posted in the wrong place
I have a question regarding the difference between the z71 option package and the regular 4wd. I have a 1999 chevy silverado 1500 with the z71. I was just wondering it that is built stronger for off road from the factory.

In the OBS, the Z-71 package included a skid plate package, Bilstene (sp) shocks, upgraded torsion bars, and I think thats it. MOST, but not all came with the factory G80 also and 3.73's. But Ive had them with 3.42's and also with an open diff. Im on my 4th now.
On the NBS you could (maybe still can) option a 4x4 up to a Z-71 with the exception of the torsion bars, and maybe the shocks, but I think you can get the upgraded shocks with one of the suspension packages.
Oh yea, I almost forgot, the most important thing the Z-71 stickers that make it indestructable.
I have a Z-71, but bought it used. On the NBS it isnt really worth it IMO.
