Default Z71 Rear diff.

Hey everyone. I've got an 02 Z71. Bought it used andthe original owners did not order the G80(i think) posi unit. I am looking at converting it over to it with Power Traxx Locker, but unsure about what type of axle it is. I think this is the right locker kit, but not sure. Is this the right one? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PWT-92-0786-3005/

Is anyone running one of these? What do you think of it?

Thanks for the help.

Ben

There is not that much of a price difference, I did the install on my own an its easily done in a day. Ron suggested to use the factory shims first and check the end play, was dead on where it needed to be. You will need to tear the axle apart on any locker you install.

The link you posted will work though.

Agreed, I didn't need my truck so I slacked , took 2 days, but with the right stuff, had about 3 3.5 hours in it all.. Also just switched sides with my factory shims..

I would stay away from the lunch-box lockers. I busted 3 of the Lock rites. I just cant recommend them.

When they work they have very positive action. With 325/50-15 tires the trcuk would fight steering inpout when taking long curves on the highway.
Lots of banging a crashing when turning into parking spots.

If you want the positive locking action only a locker provides, get an Airlocker or similar or the actual Detroit locker.

The Truetrac is good for a gear type traction aid.
