That is a huge price to pay for me taking the truck to the track 3 times a yr... mostly towing and just to hear it whine... Not interested in lauching everyday. Just wanting to hit 12.8's and I am done drag racing (beating on it) have to get this weight out of the hole and moving.... Any change in attitude with that said? Like to stay in the $500 range.

I'm in kinda the same boat you're in...I'm going to be putting an FLT lvl5 in my truck, and eventually a heads/cam LQ9. I was dead set on a Yank TT3000, but I'm concerned about it holding up to the 6.0 and coming apart, sending debris throughout the trans. The TT3000 is $575, most triple discs are $950+, although a StageI Circle D is $725 (single disc, but some billet internals)...what to do...

Dude, you spent all that much on your truck and you're going to skimp out on the converter? Many before you have used the tt3000 (reworked trailblazer converter) before a radix only to change it out later because it simply cannot hold. The tt3000 is like the jack of all, master of none. What you are describing is pretty much the exact same requirements I've called around and told that I wanted in a converter, and all have steered me in the way of the 258-265mm triple disk stall.

It might be worthwhile to note that the only converters used and warrantied by FLT are those by Precision Industries (PI).

I don't think that FLT is using PI verters anymore...

I didn't notice PI converters on their website, and I recently PM'd Vince about converter choice and he steered me in the direction of either Yank or Circle D

As far as I know, Yank, PI, and Circle D are all FLT preferred vendors. They sure are listed on their website as such last time I checked.
