circle d's stage 1 is rated to 450rwhp.
the reason I personally was suggested triple disk is because I do tow every now and then. And also, I was told to get the 258mm because it will still flash like a **** but have better street manners than the 245mm converter.
Triple disk converters are usually reserved for big power setups, but I just want something I can beat the crap out of with no problems and lock up at wot when I want - hence the 4l80e and triple disk circle D stall - " WOT Lock-Up - We dare you to break it!!"

I know a guy around my area that has a SSS big cam, 200 shot, stock 4l65e with vette servos, and the Yank TT3000.....right around 30 hole shots sprayin off the line and spraying through the shifts with 100% TM removed.
70K on the tranny and its still shifting good! no problems with the tranny or converter. I think the Yank can withstand some power!

I am running a tt2600 with my setup, guess around 475hp 475tq, and i run a 125hp shot of juice when i wanna play. I tow my mud truck on a car trailer with my quad in the back of the truck plus my gear which is probably 7500lbs all together, plus snowmobile trailer with a couple sleds nearly every weekend in the winter. It seems to be holding up fine for me and i've been running it for a little over a year.

It's actually a matter of the converter clutch breaking. Locking a conventional tcc at wot can smoke the clutch rather quickly. So you'll only want it locked under normal driving conditions, cruise, part-throttle, etc. The triple disc clutches are obviously stronger and can handle being locked at wot.

03tahoe22, I know that we have already chatted a bit on this, but having given it more thought...just keep in mind that when a torque converter lets go, the transmission can get taken out by that failure as well.
For this reason alone, it would be best to talk DIRECTLY to the manufacturers and spend the extra $$$ if they all say the same thing.

Thanks again Colby... I know everyone has a "some friend" who is running some setup that has never had problems and been doing it for yrs, but I am looking at worst case cenario. Not wanting to take out transmission with it... ~600lb-ft torque using spary on 22's extra strain.... multi-disc 2600 does it really matter 9.5 or 10.5? PI Vig is the only multi disc I found. Circle D doesnt say in there description if it does or doesnt. Yank I assume is single. Others?

the stage III circle d is triple disk and of course yank makes triple disk. For what you are wanting, the 10.5" sounds best. The 9.5 is more for drag racing, and several members here have pointed out how annoying it can be at times how high they have to rev their motors just to get going on the street.
