I absolutely love my 4200 stall. It does guzzle some fuel in the city, but it's set up so I can drop into lockup at 20MPH; that way I don't drive around at 3500rpm continually lol.

Damn, that's a low lockup speed. My buddy said his 30mph lockup speed is what broke his input shaft. Idk if it would really affect it that severely but I'd be scared. lol

This is the feedback i was hoping to hear. I may go ahead and try it out. I believe a rebuild is in line before the converter though. The 260k mile trans probably wouldnt like the converter.

I really want to swap my 3600 for a 4000, I think you'll enjoy it, but then again, like already mentioned everyone's "daily drive" is completely different. Might wanna get yourself a good trans temp gauge and a big *** trans cooler too if you sit in stop and go every days

It's not so much the low lockup speed that will break the shaft as it is the RPM point at which lockup occurs relative to the rotational speed of said shaft. Mine is set so that I don't actually get lockup unless I blip out of the throttle and let it "drop" into lockup, then I can add some gas and drive in 3rd and 4th lockup. 3rd lockup is enabled at 21MPH, 4th is enabled at 32MPH. I can drive around the neighborhood at 1000rpm and it pulls inclines very well.

Mine's a triple disc so lockup is very SOLID.

with a stock cam I'd say thats too much... but im one of the guys that doesnt love daily driving a loose converter.

That converter will love a high revving cam though...

I love the way my cam pulls and revs but I'm considering a smaller cam in the next few months. Even with the 3600 it wants to chug when I let off the brakes from a dead stop. I either need a bigger stall or a smaller cam lol. And I'm not pulling the stall again.
