Your trans builder sounds like a turd burglar, possibly a douche nozzle.
I agree with the others, sounds like he didn’t get to make a profit on the converter so he’s being an *** clown. Yank is a good company and they don’t make junk. If nothing else get the specs from Yank about your converter to double check and if it’s not what you want, sell it on here.
Sounds like he is brake stalling and telling you 2000. Has he launched it, have you?
Have you paid for the build yet? I’d tell him the price he quoted was WITH a warranty. If it doesn’t come with one NOW, AFTER he put it in then he needs to adjust the price accordingly. Time to be a douche nozzle to him.

my old 3000tt yank could only brake stall to 2k before it spun the tires. perfectly normal.... did this guy even break the converter in... your supposed to take it easy for 150 miles and no brake stalling or WOT

Brake stall and flash are two different things. Ive never had a tt2600 but Ive driven one and it flashed to 2500ish, Id imagine with your heavy tires and truck it will flash to where it is suppose to.

my 2600 pi triple disc will only stall up to about 2100, but thats a moot point because the tires start spinning way before that.

the trans builder sounds like a dick. find another one or do it yourself.

I'd be PISSED in your situation, not just because he's being a dick, but also because of this.

Update:

Took it for a drive, it has quite a few problems. Service engine light is on and it is giving a violent 1870 like 1-2 shift. The engine barely runs now and will stall out if you give it gas, it corrected itself once warm so not sure if it is tune related.

It has a blackbear tune with no TM currently, stock line pressure in the tune. I suppose every truck is different, quite a few people on here have ran this size stall with no problems being untuned.

Why is the service engine light on??? I have a feeling He did something wrong with your new trans. That would explain the harsh 1-2 shift

Tell the guy you are going to have a talk with the better business bureau about him backing out of his warranty after all was said and done. I'm sure they wouldn't help you, but saying that might make him reconsider. Also, I had a tt2600. Was a great converter, drove tight when not hard on the throttle. This guy is just pissed that you didn't buy his product. I now have a performabuilt trans and converter, they have a 2 year warranty on them, and its $950 to completely rebuild after that for life.

The truck is in my possession now. Has codes P0300 (random cylinder misfire) and P0130 (02 sensor bank 1 sensor 1) which I am assuming is pre-cat sensor drivers side. It was running good before I took it in, i'm assuming what happened is they bumped the sensor or knocked it loose somehow during the install because they are very sensitive.

He went back and adjusted the shifts, it is shifting how I want it to now. Also let me take it home without paying for it, and gave him my father's number to call to collect the payment because he was not there to meet me when I went to pay for it at the time we had agreed upon. I am rather young, and I think he was wanting to pull one over on me with the warranty. I may not be that old, but I take care of this truck and don't drive it like a teenager. I should be entilted to the same warranty as everyone else.

Now that I have actually had time to drive the truck, I love everything about the converter. Exactly what I wanted. I will take this experience as a lesson learned and stick with mail order next time.
