My well documented position if anyone is 2wd is to get a low mile 4l80e for 1/4 the price of a fully built 4l60e. Not only does it make great financial sense, it's also a much stronger trans.
i drive normal the whole day and some times race at the track like 1 or 2 times every 2 or 3 months i mostly go street raceing on thursdays an don't
relly race that much...i was thinking about upgradeing mine i called to flt
and talked to vinse and he only sells trans i wanna use mine so i called this ather company in california an they have a kit that can handle 670hp for my 4l60 and sense my trans only has 38,000 miles i don't have to rebuild it well thats what he said any way and he also said something about checking that back of the bellhouseing to see if it has a bolt and if my trans had one so what do yous think??

Sounds like the guy from cali. is feeding ya a load of crap. No 60e will hold that much power in a truck.
FLT lvl 5 is good for about 500hp to the wheels per vince and chuck.

i think the 99 3/4 and 1 tons 5.7 were the old vortec, not the ls style. and i think the bellhousing is different.
